Summary of Licence Requirements

The following table is a guide to the current recognised units of competency for a Timber Harvesting Operator’s Licence. Most units are from the Forest and Forest Products National Training Package. These units are recognised by DSE as prerequisites for a Timber Harvesting Operator’s Licence. Applicants must have certificates of competency in the units associated with the forest operation to be undertaken. Competencies should be less than five years unless additional supporting evidence is provided to determine the currency of the competency.

Applicants with qualifications similar to those listed below should check with DSE before undertaking further training/assessment as National competency codes change regularly.
