Description
This course
develops basic knowledge and skills associated with the preservation of
timber.
The major topics include assessing hazards, treatment methods, loading and
unloading treatment cylinders and the timber treatment process.
Course Content
1. Identification
of hazard levels for preserved timber and wood damaging fungi and insects.
2. Treatment
methods commonly used to preserve timber.
3. Treatment
cylinder loading/unloading technique
4. Quality
control, fault diagnosis and rectification
Assessment:
Will be by demonstration of skills and answering related questions.
