Description

This course is designed for managers/supervisors who require a better understanding of modern log conversion practices, particularly those associated with the milling of small diameter or rapidly grown logs.  Participants gain insight into the required techniques through discussion and practical instruction given on sawing equipment.

NOTE  This course can be tailored to suit a particular management group i.e. from one company or can be conducted over a reduced time frame in special circumstances e.g. over a weekend.

3.         Selection of Appropriate Cutting Patterns

4.         Containment of Defect

5.         Increasing Grade Recovery

6.         Sawing for Maximum Production

7.         Cost Effective Recovery

8.         Effects of Inappropriate Cutting Strategies

 

Assessment:   Will be by demonstration of skills and answering related questions.
