On-Site Timber Drying Training

Description

This service is available to all sawmillers on a request basis. Course content can be varied to suit the particular circumstances of the mill and the drying problems in most need of attention.

The major emphasis of the training is on sound timber drying practices to maximise recovery and enhance productivity.

Performance assessment of process, equipment and or individual operators can be provided if required together with an overall assessment of the suitability of the mill's existing timber drying strategies.

A written report for management is prepared at the conclusion of on-site training with recommendations for improvement and any desirable further training.

note

On-site training should not be seen as a replacement for the intensive one to one training of operators that takes place at the Timber Training Centre. Realistically it should be viewed as an adjunct or starting point to such training.

Cost:

Tuition fee: $1,160.00 per day

Includes instructor accommodation/travel costs in Victoria.
