DIPLOMA OF FOREST AND FOREST PRODUCTS

 

Duration:         Approximately 1250 Hrs over a 3 year time frame, delivered via block release at Creswick.

                        Each year students will attend three, two week blocks of training at Creswick and then be expected to complete work based assignments between blocks.

 

Group Size:     Class sizes will vary from 4-12.

 

Description:

This programme delivers high level technical and supervisory information to allow Forest Managers skills, knowledge and techniques to perform their jobs. 

This course has been developed in consultation with Melbourne University and Industry, and is a competency based format based on the Associate Degree in Forest Management (ADFM).

Units for block release have been based on those necessary to cover the previous knowledge component of the ADFM, and work based projects will give Timber Training Creswick evidence of competency completion.

 

Dates 2012:     Block 1, May 14-25; Block 2, August 6-17; Block 3, Sept 17-28.

Qualification Requirements

A total of 15 units of competency must be completed:

·         complete the 6 compulsory Core units plus

·         select an additional 5 units from Group A below

·         select an additional 4 units from Groups A and/or B below.

Assessment must be conducted in accordance with the Assessment Guidelines.

Cost     :     2012 Funded - at $4.33 per Student Contact Hour when State Government of Victoria Funded

The student fee is indicative only and subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as student services and amenities fees.

            :     Tuition Fee       $1,515.50 (Tuition fee for scheduled 2012 training blocks)

            :     Materials Fee       $300.00 (Materials will remain in use for years 1-3)

            :     Total Cost        $1,815.50

 

Full Fee Course Cost:  Tuition Fees $3,500.00 per year. Materials Fees: $250.00 per year.
