CERTIFICATE III IN SAWMILLING AND PROCESSING

 

Duration:         Approximately 780 Hours completed over a two year period

Group Size:     Offered on individual basis

 

Description:

This comprehensive course covers all major facets of sawmilling and further processing and incorporates both learning on the job and at the Timber Training Centre, Creswick. It consists of a number of Units which are aligned with the National Industry Competency Standards for the Sawmilling and Processing sector of the industry.

These Units are grouped into:

      1.   Compulsory Core Units

      2.   Sector and Elective Units:

 

FPI30305 Certificate III in Sawmilling and Processing - Qualification Requirements

A total of 13 units of competency must be completed:

·         complete the 6 compulsory units in Group A below

·         select an additional 2 units from Group B below

·         select an additional 2 units from Groups B and/or C below

·         select an additional 3 units from Groups B, C and/or D below.

Assessment must be conducted in accordance with the Assessment Guidelines.

GROUP D (Elective Units)

This group includes other units of competency from FPI05and/or other nationally endorsed Training Packages. Units selected must be aligned to Certificate II, III or IV outcomes. These units must be relevant to work undertaken in the Sawmilling and Processing sector of the industry.

 

Cost  :  2012 Funded based on 780 student contact hours @ $2.17/sch. Total number of hours chosen may vary.
The student fee is indicative only and subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as student services and amenities fees.
