Group Size  :     5 participants per instructor

 

Description

This course is derived from National Industry Competency Standards for the Harvesting Sector of the Forest Industries Training Package.  It is designed to increase participants’ skills in operating chainsaws safely and efficiently in a variety of common work situations. 
It does not cover tree falling.

 

Successful completion enables participants to meet one of the requirements for obtaining a Timber Harvesting Operator’s Licence in this category of work.

 

Note:  The emphasis of this course can be varied to cover a wide variety of work situations e.g. log yard operations, log dump operations, fence post and firewood cutting etc.

Assessment:   Will be by demonstration of skills and answering related questions.
